Anand Nineteen Hundred and Ninety seven, this was the year that Anand district was derived from the Kheda Distrcit of Gujarat, Anand is spread over an area of 2,951 sq.km. Anand town is the district headquarters is located by 35km from Vadodara, the fame for this city is the Amul dairy farm which is said to be the Asia’s biggest milk co-operative farm and also its products are famously known as the taste of India will be an added credit to this district. The major tourism spots around Anand are Dakor, Bharuch, the historic town of Champaner, Dhumkai Sanctuary and the Pavagadh Fort. Apart from this attractions Anand is said to be the Milk capital of India, about 70% of milk and milk products are produced here and being supplied to the neighbouring cities and states, over a million ton of milk and milk products are been produced by the Amul dairy farm which is the largest milk cooperative society in Asia. Bhadran The places of tourist interest are Champaner, Shri Khambat Teerth and Pavagadh Fort and the ancient Tarapur village is also a worth visiting spot. Borsad Here you have Dakor, Bharuch, the historical town of Champaner, Dhumkal Sanctuary and Pavagadh Fort as the major visiting locations for a tourist. Dharmaj This is said to be a scared location wherein it is surrounded with numerous temples by, Temples dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lord Ram, Verai Mata and Shri Swaminarayan temples are the major attraction here. Three Shiva temples, a Pranami temple and Saitini Devada and a Jain temple are situated at this place. Khambat This town is famous for its Jain temple of Shri Parshwanaha Bhagwan, moreover this place is considered to be very ancient because of the great port which was under the control of the Muslim rulers of Gujarat at once during 14th and 15th centuries. Being located on the bank of the Bay of Cambay this place is prone to be the business center, Khambat is now a leading industrial zone in Gujarat, wherein industries like textile weaving, carpet-making, petroleum and manufacturing salt and stone ornaments are found vivid here. Petlad This location has its Hindu religious concepts flourished and believed at a mass. Prahlad, a great devotee of Lord Vishnu and the son of demon king Hiranyakashipu is said to be lived here therefore, this place was formerly known as Prahladpur. The major tourist attractions are (A step-well and the Pandav Talav) (Lake). Tarapur An ancient temple of Somnath Mahadev and an ancient step- well and two other lakes are the major tourist attractions here. Vadtal Shri Swaminarayan temple and Vadtal Vav and the oldest round well situated here attract the visitors.
