Dahod This place is renowned for bearing the great Indian historian Aurangazeb the Mughal emperor. Dahod district was been formed by dividing Panchmahals district which boundaries with the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the area is spread over by 5,300 sq.km with 90% of tribal community people, Dahod is the district headquarters famously known for its tribal culture and art of the state. Major tourist attractions are the archaeological wonder of Bawka, Basket Lake (Talab) and the 15th century Shiva temple. The place has its values for more than 1000 years of human movements here, but when the Mughal emperor Aurangazeb was in power the place took shape in history, the emperor did enhanced the city through (late night lodging facility) ‘Dharamshala’ those days which was the talk of the country, later it was converted into a fort by the Marathas, then British came in control during 1890 from Scindias in exchange for another district and understood a corporate strategy of lodges. The archaeological wonder of Bawka, built during the reign of Maharaja of Champaner and the Basket Lake (Talab) built by the Maharaja Siddjaraj Jaisingh’s army (said that it was completed construction in one night) are the tourist attraction here. Kandana Kadana Reservoir built across Mahi River is a major attraction nearby. Limdi Bawka and Basket Lake are the visiting spots here.
