Kheda This district is spread over an area of 7,194 sq.km and famously known as the land of ‘Golden Leaf’, the historical place Khambhat is well known for its sweets and stone handicrafts. Dakor is a near by place which has pilgrim importance and celebrates Sharad Poornima fair once a year, this festive pulls in people from various parts of the country. Apart from these there are some more important place such as Santram temple and Sri Mai mandir famed for its carvings and Lasundra, a small town famous for its hot springs are the locations of visit. This is the district headquarters and also an important location of trading from the ancient settlement dates back to 5th century. Today , this location’c main occupation is dairy farming with the nearby influences of Amul milk dairy which is situated in Anand. There is a Jain temple and a Church built in the year 1822 and an early 19th century Town Hall for visit. The British military garrison of 1803 also still exists as a popular spot of visit. Balasinore The Choti Baadi complex housing the royal mausoleums and the nearby old palace are the worth places of visit. The Balasinore Fossil Park at raiyoli and Dakor are the added attraction the spot. Dakor This spot is situated on the banks of the river Shedhi and is known as a pilgrim center, thousands of devotees ply in during full moon poojas every month to this holy temple named Ranchhodariji temple which was built in the year 1772. Dakor is also another major trade center, the main exploring of export product would be plates made of dry Khakhara. Galteshwar Located on the banks of Mahi river, this picnic spot does have Galteshwar temple where Lord shiva is been worshipped here, thousands of pilgrims come in to offer prayers and praises in this temple.
