Rajkot

This is the district headquarters located in the Saurashtra redion. The place is well renowned for political and cultural activities in Indian history. Mahatma Gandhi performed his famous rajkot satyagraha from the Rashtriya shala in rajkot is the noteable event in history. This district is fertile on cultivation of groundnuts,cotton and sugarcane. There is one of the two major groundnut oil manufacturing centers. Other important products are glassware, tiles, and wall-clocks of Morbi. Jetpur is known for its textile dyeing. Dhoraji, Gondal, Morbi, Wankaner and Upleta are the important places of visit around here. The main pilgrim centers are Swami Narayan temple in Gondal and the Jalaram temple in Virpur. The other tourist attractions are Watson Museum, and Library,kaka Gandhi No Delo, Jagat Mandir, and Lal Pan Lake and Randerda.

It was once the capital of the princely state of Saurashtra. Even today, the museum is a living treasure of saurashtra’s culture and heritage. This ancient place dates back its findings to the 16th century and it is said that the great chief of Rajput Monarch Kunwar Vibhuji did find this place of inheritance. Rajkot is today a developing industrial city in Gujarat state, it provides employment opportunities to many with variety of industries emerging out from diesel engines to gold ornaments, Bandhari sarees, Mirror works, Patch works, and bead works and Silk embroidery are the challenging manual work of art in this city. There is a National weaving institute that promotes traditional weaves, handicrafts of silver, and textiles which have reached international demands, apart from this, the place got its fame because of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation has spent his childhood here. The ancestral home of Gandhiji is a permanent exhibition to those who visit Rajkot. The places of tourist visit are Jagat Mandir, Aji Dam, Kaka Gandhino Delo( Mahatma Gandhi’s home) Lal Pari Lake and Renderda, Sardar Smriti Bhavan, Watson Museum and Jubilee Gardens.

Dhank

This is another ancient location of this district. The Jain caves at Dhank are a proof that dates back to the 6th & 7th centuries. Due to its landscape Dhank is famous for its wind farms, Upleta and Dhoraji towns are the nearby attractions.

Dhoraji

This town dates from 1755AD with great historical impacts. Today, this town is flourishing to a large growth, it is situated on the banks of the River Safura, a branch rivulet from Bahdar. There is a huge fort as an example of the past living, its four main gates and 3 small gates explains the directions of nearby districts. In the east Kathiawadi Darwaja, Porbandar gate in the west, Halar gate in the north and Junagadh in the south.
Sir Bhagwatsinhiji, the famous ruler of Gondal, was born at Dhoraji Darbargadh, therefore, Darbargadh came to be one of the main attractions here and also for the temple of Goddess Ashpura. This place is a keen example for town planning of Indian towns during the reign of British.

Gondal

Jadeja Rajput were the rulers of this previous capital of princely state of Gondal, later the town was renovated and framed a new outlook as of today when the great Maharaja Bhagwatsinhiji ruled. This place is famous for handloom sarees, embroidery sarees, bead works, silver ware and other handicrafts items. The main attractions of this town is the Riverside Palace built in 1875, its lawns and gardens on the sides of Gandali River is mind refreshing. The 17th century Nanlakha palace speaks of its ancient charm, the Sangramsinhji high school, its architectural elements expose the Gothic style as like the Eton in England, spells the magic of British rule in India. The Bhuvaneswari temple and Shri Swaminarayan mandir, are the other main attractions. The Veni Lake is the paradise home on earth for the birds and the bird watchers. Huge flocks of flamingos and other migratory birds are seen here. The best seasons are October to March.

Hingolgadh nature Education Sanctuary

This spot is established with a notion on implementing forest education and preserving techniques to the generation next. The campus is about 6 sq.km the man made cum natural forest has same type of vegetations. The faunas are chinkara,leopards,wolf,flying fox, hyena are found here.

Jadeshwar

Jadeshwar temple famous for its swayambhu idol of Lord Shiva and Hari Mandir are the main attraction.

Jasden

This town is located on the banks of Bhadar River and it was set by the great warrior clan of Khachar Kathir, is the history note. Perhaps! This spot is also lush in forest region , a great view of Hingolgadh nature education sanctuary is seen from here. Jasden is known as a bird sanctuary with lots of fowls from local and migratory are found here. The private fort which is an ideal base of game viewing is also the sign of early ages of this place. Today, this fort is the heritage hotel; the Bhuvaneswari temple and Shri Swaminarayan Mandir are the other prime tourist attractions nearby.

Jetpur

Induatries like textiles, screen printing, block printing, yarn dyeing are the main and fore most occupation of this town. The places of religious visit is the Swaminarayan temple and its mural walls are at splendid site and the Bhuwaneshwari stud farm famously known for the Kathiawadi horses, Gir cattle and other ethnic breeds of livestock are the other places of visit.

Morbi

Jadeja Rajput clan ruled this place as the erstwhile capital of the princely state Morbi. The main attractions of visit are Mani Mandir, Wellington Secretariat, Suspension Bridge and Art Deco. Mainly Morbi is famous for designed clocks, pottery and glamorous tiles.

Patanavav

Located at the foothills of Dhankagiri , this place is a serene space of religious rituals. The Shri Siddha Chakra Yantramaya  Jinalaya and the Jain temple at Upleta and the fort of Dhoraji are the major attractions of tourist visit.

Rampara Wildlife Sanctaury

It is about 15 sq.km circumference of nature and beauty that dwells here, in this hilss, plains, grasslands, and forest exhibits a lovely living amidst nature. This spot was established in the year 1988. The animals found here are blue bull, chinkara, wolf and fox. Accommodations available within the sanctuary like rest huts and chankidar quarters. The best season of visit is September to January.

Upleta

Situated on the banks of Moj River, the city with its fort walls , gates and small hagts and the skyline of the buildings together exposes an awesome outlook of kingship periods. The Mosque and the Jain temple and the Darbargadh (now a police station) are the attraction spots in this wonderfully composite campus.

Virpur

The temple of St. Jalaram is the attraction of many pilgrims from the country.

Wankaner

This was a princely capital and famous for brick makers, potteries, town gates, memorials of Sartanji and his wife and royal initiatives are the major attraction. The Wankaner Palace, is today surviving as the heritage hotel to stay.
