SURENDRANAGAR Covering an area of 10,489sq.km, Surendranagar stands as the dist headquarters, Wadhwan in it is the major town. This district is fertile in growing cotton, bajra, Jowar and groundnut, but considered to be the main trading center in cotton and the other important trading opportunities rely on pottery, chinaware and basic chemicals. The important places of visit at this district are Dharangadhara, Tarnetar and Thangadh, wherein Dharangadhra is known as trading spot. Tarnetar fair is the famous occasion celebrated with great important in this district. CHUDA This spot is surrounded with temples, and invites a numerous pilgrimists from other parts of the country; Shri Raj Saubhag Satsang Mandal at Sayla is a spiritual campus at a nearby distance. Green Chowk, Gandhi Smriti Mandir, Jain Bhandar and the old palace at Limbdi are the favorite attractions to tourist visit. DHARANGDHRA This is an ancient town that speaks the facts of the history and growth of civilization. This town is said to be the capital of the local kingdom of Halvad-Dharangadhra once and is much influenced with ancient style in architecture that speaks history, through the construction efforts of temples, step wells, palaces and mosques are the monuments that pictures the past living. Even, the shrines and crafts and arts reveal the historical value and make this town interesting and famous. Basically this town is small, yet, famous for salt and cotton trade. The majority of the people are farmers and shopkeepers. The 16th century sunken garden at Halvad Palace, the 19th century Ajitnivas palace and the Jain temple are the major tourist’s spots of visit. Every summer, people around this town gather here to conduct martial alliances and charm the visitors with snakes, are the prime events that add more fame and game over here. HALVAD This town is known to be as the capital of Dharangadhra state, when ruled by Thala Rajputs. It lies at the Southern edge of the Rann of Kutch district. Halvad, exhibits the ancient Cenotaph and hero stones made of sandstones are the notable monuments. Every year an eating competition of Laddu [a sweet in India] is conducted with great fun and fantasy. LAKHTAR Another town of pilgrim importance situated in the state is Shri Shiyani Teerth on the Limbadi-Lakhtar road. The other important temples for visit are RajMahal and Hawa Mahal, Swami Narayan Temple, Wagheshwari Devi Temple and Ranakdevi Temple at Wadhwan. Green Chowk, Gandhi Smriti Mandir, Jain Bhandar, old palace and bazaar at Limbdi are the other palaces of tourist interest. LIMBDI Green chowk, Gandhi Smriti Mandir ,Jain Bandhar , old palace and bazaar are the important place of visit in this district town. PATDI The 11th century sandstone fortress here is known to be very enchanting and attractive and within a short span of drive you can reach the wild Ass Sanctuary to tour with nature and fun. SAYLA In other words we can mean it as ‘Osho’which means, place of saints and sages gather. Sayla is locally known as the town of saints, this ancient town is an important pilgrim center for Jains. Here, the main tourist attractions are the Old Bell Guest House and Sri Raj Saubhag Satsand Mandal and also an ideal locale to visit Tarnetar Mela and archeological sites of Sejakpur which are world famous. TARNETAR It is believe, that this town emerges even from the dates of puranas. Here, the most important fair of Gujarat is celebrated, as an annual fair namely Tarnetar Mela, which takes place during the first week of Bhadrapad, [September-October]. Indian history, says that it was here, where Draupadi’s Swayamvaram took place. The Trineteshwar Shiva temple is the ideal place where this Mela is held. WADHWAN It is known to be the finest fortified towns of Gujarat as a living example and an important center for Jainism. It is located on the banks of Bhogavo River and the place where previously named as Vardhamanpuri.though there are plenteous pilgrim centers for Jainism, this locale Wadhwan is considered to be a special sanctify because of the footprints of Mahavir Swami is seen here. Raj Mahal and Hawa Mahal are the greatest attractions and architectural challenge built by the rules of Wadhwan, those days. The other two ancient identity here is, the step wells, named Madha Vav [AD1169], as year together, still at existences. Today, this town explores into handicrafts traditions and workmanship, it is famous for tie and dye, brass utensils, Metal wares, educational wooden toys, Culinary enchant of ‘Ganthia and Peda’. ZAINABAD This is known to be a picturesque location situated near the little Rann of Kutch. Zainabad is a famous bird sanctuary and a favorite spot for bird watching. More than 300 different species of birds are spotted here which includes, waterfowl, waders, raptors, ground birds like Larks, Sand grouse and endangered Hubara Bustard. This town has its birds flight because of the little Rann Sanctuary is closely situated. The best season of visit can be in October-March. ZINZUWADA Dates back from 11th century AD during the rule of Solanki rulers, this town is a fortified elegance of ancient importance on Hinduism. The towns four entrance is notable on appreciation for its skilled carvings and sculptures as manuscripts of ancient talents.
